Christian

Christian means following Jesus Christ, and living our lives according to the Bible.

Intentional

Intentional means that we wouldn’t be doing things haphazardly, without a plan, or leaving things to accident, but being decisive and intentional in every aspect of our lives.

Community

Community means living our lives together in unity, cooperation and support.

Apolitical

Our focus is on building our community, not voting, lobbying, lawmaking or politicking. Politics or government is not the solution to any of our current problems. Political debate, the promotion of candidates or issues among ourselves is futile. We are not going to wait for the next candidate or law to save us. Political solutions have not worked in the past, and will not work to create a different future.

Traditional Christian ethics and morals

Following traditional Christian ethics and morals. We will seek a balance between legalism, and lawlessness, and reject the extremes of either. I dislike the division that tends to result from debate in this area. I would be inclined to adopt one of the historical creeds or confessions of the Church, and that we and any future members come to an agreement on that, however, many of the issues currently under debate in the world are addressed below.

Tradition and History

Tradition and historic ways of doing things (including crafts) have practical value for our lives today, and into the future. We will reject the assumption that everything old-fashioned is bad and irrelevant, and everything new is good and useful. The value and affects both of practicing traditional ways, and embracing new practices must be evaluated.

Binary Sex Model

Boys and girls are clearly differentiated at birth, and grow up to become men and women. Both have equal value, but different roles. We will reject all of the confusion that says otherwise.

Traditional Marriage

Marriage is only valid and morally appropriate between one man and one woman. We will reject any other arrangement, or other sexual relationship outside of that.

Traditional Gender Roles

The majority of women, wives and mothers, will work keeping a home, and raising children, or helping those that do, and the majority of men will work outside the home for money. We will reject the idea that women can only find satisfaction or fulfillment in a career.

Patriarchy

Entrepreneurship

Starting and running our own businesses, and partnering with or employing each other in those, and enjoying the freedom that provides when you aren’t working for someone else. We favor self-employment over many other jobs. Many workplaces will likely only get more challenging if employees do not submit to new vaccines, hiring quotas and rules constantly.

Technological Skepticism

Technology, particularly digital, or computer technology in this age, is often to blame for problems, and thus is rarely a good solution, but rather is often to blame for the issues created. If it is not primarily responsible, it is connected in a secondary way that only further complicates the issues. The solutions are very rarely found in more technology. Rather than an uncritical embracing of new technology, we have a skeptical perspective that examines the effects of new technology, is best to prevent future problems.

Simplicity of lifestyle

This is connected to technology, in that we would prioritize our real face-to-face conversations and relationships over screens and computers, even to communicate with each other. In all likelihood, this would mean setting some parameters on digital technology use.

Homeschooling or private schooling

Homeschooling or private schooling is really the best option for our children. In addition, educating others could be a good outreach to others in the area, a way to promote the community, or source of income. We will reject the assumption that government education is the only valid or good idea.

Homesteading

Living the agrarian lifestyle that most all of our ancestors lived, IE: the self-reliant lifestyle of growing your own crops and raising your own livestock in a farm to table environment is an intelligent solution for regaining and restoring robust health, vitality and peace of mind. This agrarian lifestyle has passed the test of time over thousands of years and is sensible and logical regardless of what changes may or may not occur in the world. While farming likely won’t be the main occupation of most of our members, we seek to remain rooted in agriculture.

Prepping/Survivalism

Preparing for emergencies or disasters whether natural or man-made is wise. The first thing we can do to prepare is not self-defense, or food storage, but rather to build community for mutual support. We all have different strengths and weaknesses, but we can share, and help one another. We will reject the idea that both the Preppers and Homesteaders have that one person or one family can do everything themselves. It takes a community.

Non-Violent

We do not advocate the initiation of violence against individuals, government officials, corporations, or anything else that makes up the System. Our focus is on creating rather than destroying. We are building community and advocating new alternative institutions and parallel systems, not violent revolution. However, unlike some other groups, we do believe in self-defense and are not naive about conflict or violence in the world.

Deeper Meaning and Spirituality

Faith in God, belief in ourselves and our community vision and hope for the future. We will reject the System, and all its various parts, and the lies created and perpetuated by the System, and the individualist, consumerist, entertainment-driven, lonely, nihilistic, and empty existence that has become “normal” in the world.

Alternative Everything is about building alternatives, rather than reforming or redeeming existing systems or institutions.


This is by no means intended to be an exhaustive list. We will seek to create all of the parameters that we need, and nothing that we don’t. If we need parameters to address a problem, we will create some, but we will not create parameters for a non-existent problem. We are interested in building solutions, not making up rules.
